The thing I love about that clip, and his entire 'coming out' as a player in that genre, is the grimace of "oh sh*t Steve, don't screw up, don't blow it, they ain't playin' that fast really, try to remember to smile" concentrated terror written on his face at every performance. He knows he is the novelty item in that company and not the main event and is just beggin' them not to play any faster. If they put the hammer down, he's dead.

Well yeah, but in fairness that would apply to a lot of full-time musicians too not just an ex-comedian was stopped being funny a long time ago - Stuart, Gill, Lee, Scruggs are all at the top of their game. Except for Scruggs who stopped being at the top of his game on 28th March last year.

I've always hated all hip hop. I quite like Hugh Laurie, though from what I've seen on Jools he'd be well advised not to give up the day job. The only 'enthusiasts' that have ever played alongside real musicians with total credibility were John Belushi & Dan Ackroyd. Not that they actually played or anything, as far as I remember, but as a musical experience...
