Inspired by the television programmed, inspired by George Orwell's dystopian book, 1984. Nominate something you hate into room 101. I thought of two things, but I forgot one of them. Hopefully, it will come back to me. My other nomination is

• Actors who leave popular television series, forcing them to either recast or write the character out in a contrived way. The two worst examples of this are Gareth Thomas who played Blake in Blakes 7, and Cheryl Hall, who played Wolfie Smith's girlfriend in Citizen Smith.

My Dad has a diagnosis of Vascular Dementia, so as much as the old sod annoys me, I have to say:

Dementia.

Simple as. 🤷‍♂️

He's 79.

At least when my Mum went (from Bowel Cancer that spread to her lungs) we knew what was happening and had a timeline (even though she went before then and got her big funeral just before Covid cut it all off), but my Dad? 🤷‍♂️

All we can do is wait.

These documentaries, such as long lost families, who do you think you are etc. Not so much the programmes themselves, but the technique they use.

The presenters walk up to a house and ring the bell, pretending to be a first greeting. Only to have a camera crew already on the inside, filming them entering the house. Obviously very rehearsed, but pretending to be spontaneous.

That's a good one. Sadly inconveniencing the law abiding while doing little to hinder lunatics is the British way of doing things.
