So you feel you view boxes are better than human android boxes? They are faster but you get less channels?

I would be happy to use one in the main room and a slower one for the second room so I can watch my rugby league

Android boxes don't do Freeview. They may have on demand players and subscription channels like Amazon or Netflix.

The Youview box is Freeview and also has on demand players.

Thanks all, just found out new house has broadband speeds of 2.24 and I need 3 for he channels? 2 for standard? Some boxes need a dish and some don't, am I better with the version that needs a dish if I have slower broadband?

I have been through them all and the BT YouView (DTR2100) box is the best terrestial Freeviw box out there - it's fast, records 3 channels at the same time, has the on demand players that work flawlessly and it's yours to keep on a 12month contract. The guide is a dream to use.
I have had a couple of Humax boxes and they are slow and the user friendliness can't touch Youview.

I tried all the Humax boxes when I go mine and the only one I found to be any good was the Humax DTR-T1010 it starts up in a few seconds and is very quick generally where the cheaper boxes I found to be dreadful, very slow to start up and slow to respond to the program guide and switching channels. My dad just recently got the updated version what has a larger Hard Drive and his is nice and quick also.

Cant you get Fibre Optic Broadband where you are moving to ?

Freeview - Uses TV Ariel no iplayer etc ( some high end boxes may have some internet content)
FreeSat - Uses Satellite dish for TV no iplayer etc ( some high end boxes may have some internet content)
Youview - Uses TV Ariel for Freeview and uses Internet for iplayer etc content and can go back 7 days in tv guide for some channels but needs a decent internet connection.

This isn't the house I'm moving to but is on the same estate, it's less than my current house which is pretty good

Have you checked on https://www.plus.net/ there is a "Check what's available where you live" on there that will tell you all the packages and speeds available in any area just to make sure.
Plus net say I cannot get broadband? It's not in the area?
BT says I can get super fast broadband? Infinity, around £30 with a phone line

Guess plus net not in the area or details not up to date?

Hi David using the postcode you gave BT say you can get 'infinity', for a 'Droidbox' you need a phone line, no dish needed.
For a record-able version of the the t-8, the t-8s is the next model up.

Cool, BT say I can get infinity they also provide a box but would prefer my own, I'd get the recordable t-8s? I'll look it up

Just checked again through plus net and they say I can get fibre broadband for £15 a month then £30 after 6 months? Different website say different things so will only be sure when I speak to them, would be odd for a large ten year old estate in a large town not to have broadband?

So all being well that's my internet sorted, been offered a box for £150 fitted and set up, uses sky dish and broadband and has all channels already set up, runs quicker as it doesn't stream? Not sure I follow but that's what I'm told

It depends on where you are, there are some areas out of town where a supplier may not have equipment in the local exchange so it cant offer the same price as it can in town, there is a chat function on the plusnet website try that and ask them to clarify for you.

You will have all the channels to watch. Basically a 'sky/virgin' box that is open. Unlike an 'android' box that takes it's content from the internet.

But, for me having everything to watch when I want it is why I use the t8. Thb I haven't sat down to watch live tv other than sport,
I just pick the movie or tv show past/present when I feel like it.
