Give it a go, pm me with a user name and password and I will set it up. you need to upload your routes as individual KML files and that is about it - I'm not really sure what i am doing with passwords so don't send me anything you use for online banking. In fact I am not really sure what I am doing altogether so don't be surprised if it doesn't work properly ^_^

I started trying to cycle all the roads in the borders a quite a few years back, but since my map filled up a couple of years ago I haven't been doing as much cycling, in fact this past couple of years I have just been going out pedalling the same circuits over and over again and getting a bit bored with it.
So this is my latest motivation to try and do all the roads in all of the seasons. Odd I know but if it gets me out there :-)
Thanks for the offer, that would be great! but ... can i get the kml files from Strava (do you know)? That's how I record my rides.

3000 was the target at the start of the year, a couple of 2 week hospital stays put paid to that. Revised down to 2000, only 4 miles to go so all being well...
3k will have to wait until next year..

Around 3900 so far this year, last year i did 3168. I suppose i was hoping to do 5000 in a year for the first time but over 4000 will do. Next year i'm going to give up this notion of It's only been a good ride if you've done x amount of rides. I now prefer doing steep hills around here over travelling long distances(for me),just for the sake of adding on the miles.

You know , when I dragged my winter fixed wheeler out of the garage last month, I noted that the battery in the cycle computer had died over the summer and I still haven't got round to replacing it. It actually feels incredibly liberating to ride without knowing how fast you're going or how far and just concentrate on enjoying riding.

Agreed. Hilly stuff should get a dispensation. My 5,400km to date includes 102,600m climbing. Or for you pre-decimal fogeys 3,350 miles with 336,000ft of climbing
I typically average 10-12 mph on my hilly rides. It is rare for me to do flat rides, but when I do I average 15-18 mph for the same degree of effort so I reckon my routes should have a fiddle factor of about 1.5. That would put me on about 5,000 miles so far, and about 5,500 by the end of the year.
not really sure what strava is, I have got it working in Firefox and Explorer. Is Strava something to do with mobile phones ?
Yes, Strava will record a map of your ride, and data (speed, climbing, top speed etc(. Users can create 'segments' and compare their performance on that segment (e.g. a hill, a long straight, an entire route, if you like) over time.

Anyway, guess I'd need to find some way of getting the data as a kml file (or map it, which ...I know I won't do consistently). I'll have a think about it, and let you know

I've had a pretty good year on the bike with 3 tours - 2 with Mrs 26 ^_^ Target was well under control until I felt a bit jaded and eased off - still on shcedule tho'. Then a spell of medical stuff stopped my riding so the target has had to be shelved. All good tho'. Targets help but reality must be borne in mind
