So, as I didn't think I had enough projects going on at the moment ( 4 hehe ) I saw an old ( 70's ) ladies raleigh sport on eBay. Stating at 99p!

Gotta be worth a punt I thought, to add to my bin find mens raleigh sport that i found a few weeks ago lol

Ok

So picked this up this afternoon  :bicycle:

She's a little errrrrrr........weathered? Haha but with a bit of elbow grease and some goodwill she'll be right as rain.
I'm not sure on the year etc until I've had a chance to clean up the sturmey hub and get at the date codes etc but its a 3 speed ladies raleigh Trent tourist. ( Posibly late 50's early 60's??) With working, yes WORKING dynamos!! Bonus!

All original, even down to the tyres and bell! I'm hoping that a clean up and a new spring ill be able to save the bell!

She was found in the loft of a garage belonging to an elderly lady that's recently passed away

Anyhoo here's some pics I grabbed on my phone before it got too dark:thumbsup:

DCLane

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Dare you to turn up to a Sky Ride or sportive in it

Grease the wheels, etc. and leave the rest as it ...

Given I did one on the Ammaco Tony Doyle and got strange looks, this'd get more, particularly going past the 'buy expensive and think they're pro's but they're not' crowd.

The frame looks pretty good. The wheels look like they need a lot of work though. Nice period bike. Keep us posted with progress pics.

Last years Castle Classic in Leicester (the first) had a shoppers and choppers race in which several of these featured.
Ive got one similar as my next project (no 10 in my stable) and would use it as an ideal training bike on the premise that if you can cope with the weight and lack of multiple gears it will be better than the mountain bike I currently use for this (the temptation to give up and granny ring hills is just too much).
