Just take a look at the before and after pictures and you should be proud of yourself . Even if it turns out to be from the 70's it was a time when this country still made cycles in large numbers .
Your friend is just jealous ! I expect it will turn a few heads when people see it out and about .

A miracle the front one is still there! Used to bounce off the lamp holder and clatter down the road. Another use for a Christophe toe clip strap lol

I had an Halfords front light that used to do that, there was a particular bump on the way home, if I hit that I was picking the front light off the road. I replaced it after one winter if I remember right.
