Land Rover Discovery, unladen weighs 2700 kilos, so with a driver, fluids and some other bits the thick end of three tonnes, I suspect the one in this incident had one occupant, same as the bike it hit which all up with rider is probably less than a 100 kilos, so 27 plus times more to probably move one person.

It may well have been the cyclists fault but I really dont see the need for these kind of vehicles for 90 precent of the ownership. I am not anti four by four, I just cant see the point.

broadly speaking, a self-gratification artist car for self-gratification artists

that picture suggest the car ran over the back of the bike at/on a roundabout, hard to imagine that being the cyclist's fault

Tynan, agreed, does look that way but its difficult to say categorically, as for self-gratification artist car, as those kind of vehicles go I think they are one of the least offensive as they are less bling than some of the others, basically the same vehicle underneath as the Range Rover Sport which does seem to attract knobheads.

My wife informed me my brother in law has just bought one of those, it his defence he does live on a farm of sorts.

Was very irratated by the comment posted on that article quoted below:-

Why did the Police have to close the road for such a long time causing traffic chaos? I walked to the scene at approx 18:00hrs and everything was cleared and the Northbound road just had Police cars on.

People are so selfish especially after seeing that photo which clearly shows the driver must gone straight into the back of the cyclist. The delay was so they could investigate in case of prosecution but all that bothers the commentor is his delay to his journey.

The concerning thing for me is that that bike is Claud Butler Stone River mountain bike identical to the one I just sold so I hope it isnt the new owner.
