Good afternoon gentlefolk.

I was given this bike a few months ago. I’m trying to decide what do with it. It would be immensely helpful if you could help me identify it. I don’t think it’s anything special, I don’t know how old it is, it’s possible that the fork is not original, also I don’t think the chain set is kosher either.

On the bottom of the BB it has a plastic Raleigh cable guide, again it might not be original.

I’ve looked in all the usual places on line for a clue to the serial number and have drawn a blank. The number is M8J20471.

It looks like the original colour is a metallic pink.

I would be grateful for your assistance.

Looks like a far eastern Falcon from the 80's but loads of frames like this were imported under a multitude of names.

As @midlife says poss Falcon including the Harry Quinn's produced by them as sure they had M prefix frame numbers

Further research suggest that you are correct ( well you would be) about the M prefix. Unfortunately there isn't a lot more info out there about the serial numbers.
