Got knocked off me bike yesterday:sad:

Awful road layout where a one way street ends on a round a bout and basically it was a SMIDSY.
Bike damage is minor just the handle bar tape and got a scuffed knee and grazed pride.
Young lad in a Corsa, kept trying to apologise, I was just so bliddy angry that I walked hobbled away.
In a way it was a good job it was wet yesterday as my new Cube came and i was itching to use it, didn't want to get it dirty so I was on the Carerra.

Seems to be the season for unexpected body/tarmac interactions.
It would have been a real pisser to have had the same happen the first day on a new bike, always a positive side to virtually everything.

Im sorry to hear that Sean. Its definately getting more dangerous for cyclists or anyone using roads. In the old days mirror signal manouvere thats how I was taught that doesnt seem to be happening much now hence the amount of smidsy's but there is no data as not every smidsy is recorded. Im not sure what the answer is my approach is to avoid traffic populated areas as much as can I often take lanes with terrible road surfaces I just cant stand the get from A 2 B as fast as I can attitude of car drivers. Yesterday I had a 4x4 wanted to race past me as we approached a single caraigeway bridge if I had not heard his revs and looked over my shoulder at best he would have breaked hard at worst I'd of hit the bridge approach wall I could not believe he wanted to jump the gap for the sake of a few seconds waiting and god forbid if a car had come the other way he'd have taken it out. Then just as you think things cant get worse and old geezer pulls out from a bus layby just as Im parallel with his back bumper had I not slowed it would have been another smidsy.

I had to travel into town at lunchtime today. Not one but two women separately decided to reverse towards me in queues of traffic. One of them stopped, but the other one I had to make a hasty manoeuvre to avoid.

I've sat down at the computer and have hopefully come up with a safer route totally avoiding the incident spot.
Also going to avoid a local high school where every other kid seems to have an ipod plugged in walking on the cycle path
