Hi everyone.
im currently riding the stock tires that came with my steed (cube attention sl) they are schwalbe smart sam 29"x2.25.
They are good for all round riding but i do ride with road bikers quite often and although they try to keep a pace i can match, the last few miles wipe me out. A few lads have suggested that a slicker tire would help alot but i dont know what i need to consider when swapping my tires. I know that mine are tubed (with schrader valve) so i should look for the same but i dont know about things like beading or what width i should go for.
Can i swap them straight out for, say, schwalbe marathons or an equivalent?

Hi and :welcome: to the site.

A 29er mountain bike uses the same diameter rims as a 700c road bike or tourer (622mm) so, yes you can swap for Schwalbe Marathon or similar.

Depending on how wide the rims are (may be marked on a label or stamped into the rim in the format 622x??) you may be able to go fairly narrow. For details have a look at the chart in the "which tyre fits which rim" section on this page of Schwalbe's website: http://www.schwalbe.com/gb/reifenmasse.html
