A conversation with a colleague this morning has prompted me to ask here (what with the large number of wordsmiths - is that one hyphenated too?), so does anyone know - definitavely - is it answerphone, answer-phone or answer phone?

I believe words such as this were what the term "bastardisation" was invented for. It's just wrong on so many levels.

I do hope we continue to export English to the Americas and not the other way around. I don't fancy stopping at a school Xing!!!
