Anti cyclists

I remember @srw and @rvw being heckled about affording a car on the A9 through Inverness during LonJOG. The driver was in a beaten up ood Corsa. They were on a shiny new titanium(?) tandem that was probably worth at least 4 times as much as the car.

It was neither shiny nor new, but it was more valuable (in all sorts of ways) than a beaten-up Corsa. And we did pay more for it than we had paid for our car of the time.

Anyway - my advice is just to ignore the idiots. To misquote Lewis Carroll, they only do it to annoy because they know it teases.

Had that in the staff room one day from an Agency Locum....

She couldn't understand why people found it funny

Then someone pointed out that the majority of the Consultants were cyclists, and another pointed out that I had a collection of recumbents, several of which were probably worth more than her car

Her comments changed to - "Well they are stupid to buy bikes when they could have a car"

Some people just don't have a clue clearly. I can't grasp the fact we stay in a world where no one can be considerate to one another. Everyone is in a rush and can only think of themselves. Hopefully the agency got rid of the dim wit as if she can't grasp that she shouldn't be in her position

To be fair, the cyclists in that video were pretty useless. Dawdling along, riding miles apart taking up the whole road - they could easily have moved into a sensible position to let traffic past when it was safe. I, and most other people with consideration do it all the time.
