I don't give a stuff about SPOTY, but the Grauniad have posted up this list of less-then-inspirational sportsmen and women (Mainly men. One woman, one male horse) that would make a much better programme.

I have a sneaking admiration for Vanessa Mae. Ace fiddler but useless downhill skier. Fixed a few races to get in the Olympics, didn't deny anyone else a place. Couldn't give two hoots about a 4 year ban from competing in the future. And she looks rather nice in those all-in-one ski suit thingies. She'd get my vote

Which just goes to show that you can't fiddle the results, no matter how good you mae be.

Therapy - wow! Anything with 'pee' at the end of it and he'd run a mile. I think he's probably tried that too, hasn't he?

Can soccer/football managers be nominated? The chap who manages Arsenal needs glasses more than the refs as he "never sees" his team commit wrongdoing, but is always dead certain when his team are wronged. And the Chelsea bloke moaning about the 'ballboys/girls' last week - that deserves a 'Special Personality to Inspire' award.
