"iCoffee will use your location services to point you to the nearest independent coffee shop. It will also give you a run down on the roast beans they have in that day, so you can go in prepared, and not have to waste valuable seconds looking at the menu board. After all, that’s time that could be spent sitting on the pavement, looking troubled."

The writer gets the iSuck award. Barely read a tenth of that and bored beyond belief.

So they spend valuable seconds looking at an app instead?

there is one that is very popular, it's called garmin
sorry, but the garmin really is the ultimate option. if you can't afford one then there is plenty of usb charger/battery packs/external battery about like this

I have a Garmin, but if I can't be bothered to connect it I sometimes just use my phone for convenience. My gf won't let me leave the house without it anyway!

I was only having a laugh, I just remember my mate saying his iphone doesn't last long when using strava.

i always have good old nokia brick in jersey pocket and garmin on bars
i just let the garmin charge to 100% when i plug into pc to upload after each ride s it generally ends up below 50%

Right then Garmin boffin. How long will the 500's battery last with the light on constant? Any ideas?

I was thinking of getting a cheap phone to not have to take my best one also. One fall and that could be the end of it.

dunno, i ride with a garmin edge toruing and on lowest brightness it went from 100% to 27% in about 9 hours

garmin site said 'upto 18 hours' but that will be lowest brightness and not doing anything/much i expect so lets say 10-15 hours
Cheers Ed
