Any apps or websites that calculate total elevation on a route?

Hi all

I'm planning a couple of routes which involve a lot of climbing, however I don't want to bite off more than I can chew! I did 75 miles and 5,000ft last Sunday and that was about my limit at the moment, obviously this will increase quickly though as I keep riding. Do any of the apps/websites show total elevation for a planned route?

GPSies and bikeroutetoaster will both give the altitude for routes you've created.

http://www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php - doesn't seem to work in Firefox for me, but is fine in Chrome - I expect it's because it uses google maps data.

Anyway, plot your route and click 'Show elevation data' - you can switch between height and gradient.

Brilliant thanks. That was easy but the ride won't be, 73 miles and over 6,000ft of climbing. Not that much more than last week but that extra 1,000ft will hurt
