After my son "borrowing" my Claude Butler I've gone out and bought a used Batavus Adagio. I havn't had a Dutch bike since I had a fixed wheel one in 1985 that I had a lot of fun with and was looking for something with hub gears and brakes just to try really. It's spent a lot of time outside and needs a tidy up but looking online, I can't find many places to get parts apart from the "dutchbikeshop". 'Anyone know where I might find original parts like cables, mudguards, pedals etc?
TIA, Drew

They use the same generic parts as other bikes. If I remember correctly they use SRAM hubs. Their cables and shifters (etc) are readily available online. I think they've got 630mm wheels. There is no problem getting tyres or mudguards for these online either.

As above, nothing really very 'Dutch' about it except for the 'sit up and beg' bars and the rear wheel lock. You just have to hope thieves haven't learn the trick they use extensively in Holland which involves hitching a strap to the frame near the saddle and attaching it to their belt under a jacket. That lifts the rear wheel so the thief just wheels it off with it without attracting any undue attention.
As for parts you'll get all in your local Halfords or Decathlon apart from the specialist SRAM stuff.

Yes. I have a 1960s single speed with Sachs coaster brake. Rides really nice for what it is I should use it more.
