I was just wondering if I could get an idea of what is going on. Every time I stand up I get a head rush, I could have as many as 10-15 in a day, and sometimes they are so intense I am on the verge of fainting, and have to grab onto something to stop myself from falling over. I'm also needing to sleep a lot. I'm not sure if this is connected, but my appetite is huge and I normally crave sugary food, and can get bad tempered when I can't find anything decent to eat.

I'm 17, 5ft 10 and 138 lbs.

I'm thinking along the lines of diabetes/hypoglycaemia, or am I way off?

Could be something, could be nowt but we won't be able to tell you. Your GP should be able to check all those things you mentioned with a few simple tests: Make an appt.

A couple of the symptoms may be common to diabetes, best to get it checked by the doc

Sounds like you have low blood pressure. I went to the doctors with the same symptoms and he sent me away saying its fine, perfectly normal.

sounds like you've got bottom-bracket-perigerontitis, and it's reached the acute stage. Go to the doc, although there may not be much he or she can do. (And, yes, this is a cycling forum)

I did a Google once to find out about dizzy spells when standing up, and guess where it pointed me to.

Yeap, you guessed, right back here to CycleChat. It's been discussed at least once before:

Of course, only your doctor will be able to confirm if its the same thing you're experiencing.

PS. If you Google "perigerontitis", it comes up with absolutely zilch, never seen that before.

Haha, I wasn't going to just sit in the house thinking 'the people on cyclechat said it was okay so I'll just sit here and keep fainting'.

I was just looking to see if anyone had any idea what it could be, I'm hoping to get a doctors appointment sometime this week.

Link doesn't work. I get a pop up saying: "mhtml is not a registered protocol."
