The Specialized Roubaix Elite seems to have had an interesting makeover (although I'm not mad keen on the colour xx(), and I'm curious to know if the shock absorber in the head tube really does do a good job of dampening the road vibration?

The Giant TCR Advanced 2 Disc looks pretty cool too:

Nothing special to look at, but special because I got a 20% discount only available for Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

I've always wondered about the physics of those one-sided forks - does it feel any different to ride / throw about on the hills?

Lefties as they are known. Not for me as I like symmetry

I thought it might take a few rides to get used to it but apart from the look it was fine from ride one, hills no problem apart from the engine.

When it is finally finished it will be lovely - currently missing stem (length TBC once the bike is assembled), hubs (Chris King Centerlock ceramic bearings) and the groupset (Etap hydraulic). Everything else is there and ready to be turned into a bike.

Hubs are due by end of March. The groupset is now not going to arrive until June  despite being told it would be available early 2017. If only SRAM could actually make anything hydraulic without messing it up and having to do it again!

The photos really don't do it justice, the decals are all slightly raised and in a brushed mat silver.

It should be great once built - it isn't a light beast, but should be able to transfer a large amount of any pedal stroke into forward motion. To say I can't wait is an understatement.
