out cycling in north west Durham on Sunday, very muddy when got back. Anyway, on cleaning my bike and shoes down and washing away the mud I found this coin, assuming it’s not fake, anyone any idea if it’s of any value?

Any idea what the three characters are stamped on the edge of the coin in the second picture? Loads of souvenier ones apparently that are stamped, and also lots of fake originals around.

That’s a fake I’m afraid, made in their thousands by a Midlands firm as part of a Roman coin pack. There are lots about, and loads of copies of the copies....You can buy a decent, original Caesar “elephant denarius” for about £75, so you weren’t in the big money either way.
