I have a new frame heading my way and will be looking to install an Italian bottom bracket. I've done this before, and it was a bit of a nightmare - the damn thing kept coming loose. I seem to remember that I came across a tip that finally sorted the problem, but I'm damned if I can remember what it was. Any suggestions appreciated.

PTFE tape or threadlock?
Either one will let you welly it up really tight, which is what's needed IIRC.
A long time since I've had an Italian threaded frame - probably my old Alan in '91.

I think my Basso is Italian-threaded. (I know that you'd expect an Italian frame to have Italian threading but my Bianchi didn't!)

I have never had any problem with its BB coming loose; I just do it up as tight as I can using a sensible amount of effort i.e. tight, but not b***tard tight!
