Or am I just mad?
I think I actually prefer the colder nights, a bit of rain, a tad on the cold side but not freezing...
The last few months I'd been getting lackadaisical about getting out running...I'd been cycling a bit more in the mornings mainly due to getting up early with the sunrise. Tonight after riding home via Lidl to find empty shelves where cycling gear had been (so bought a bottle of whisky instead so not too disappointed) then to pets at home to fill my panniers to bursting point with food for the cats...I got the urge to go out for a run.
Tracksuit bottoms, Climacool Tee and a Lidl cycling gilet..Just right for a 6 mile circuit out in Derbyshire, just the light of my head torch illuminating the fine, cooling drizzle falling on my face, and hardly a soul in sight save for 3 mountain bikers . A good sweat worked up but not streaming into my eyes, and the solitude and silence allowing me to completely lose myself in my thoughts
I love passing fields of livestock and just seeing hundreds of eyes reflecting my torchlight back at me
There is something quite magical about the night, that is lost in the summer
