My grandfather went overseas only once. About a hundred years ago, like yours, with work. A place called Verdun...My grandparents never went abroad on holiday, but my grandad went to Normandy with work (D-Day)

Your alright Mo for us Scots that counts as abroad.....Never been either.....and now that I am living on a miniscule pension I won't be going anytime soon. Lol. To be honest, it doesn't bother me as I am a definite home bird anyway plus having pets that I am too soppy to consider putting in kennels/cattery.
Furthest afield I have been is Cornwall and North Wales![]()

I imagine that wars were the first and only overseas trips for many people, Trafalgar, Waterloo, Crimea, etc. etc. etc.My grandfather went overseas only once. About a hundred years ago, like yours, with work. A place called Verdun...

That thought had crossed my mind when back home.Good job it wasn't on the flight out otherwise you'd still be 'there'!
Sadly the same in recent times for our young men sometimes women.I imagine that wars were the first and only overseas trips for many people, Trafalgar, Waterloo, Crimea, etc. etc. etc.
