Anybody here shave their head?

Im looking at getting a new set of hair clippers but I'm looking for some input if there's some going. I generally use a number 2 or 3 whichever comes out of the box first, my query though is with the ease of using the clippers. It's a faff with normal clippers trying to do the back of your head and having to get someone to check you haven't left great clumps hair, so I was wondering if anybody had any experience of clippers like this;

Clippers are not shaving.

Hmmmm, that's probably a good point well made, however, damn you and your facts anyway!

I have a no. 0 every 3-4 weeks, and shave my head once a year (admittedly at a barber's) but it's easy with a Bic razor with two blades (as I used to do it myself).

Just cut your hair short first, otherwise it's a tedious process of trying to remove the cut hair from the razor.

Clippers are not shaving.

I think people who use an electric razor on their face call it shaving. So to remove your hair with the equivalent type of gadget on your bonce is probably also shaving. IMHO, anyway.

Takes longer to find my hair than cut it.

I have looked at those shavers and I am not sure how they will cope with the lumpy bits and close into the ears.

I just use normal clippers, neat blade, just go over it plenty of times and it gets easier not to miss bits.

I am however dismayed at the ever reducing pile of hair after reach trim. Still, on the plus side the clippers should last longer.....

My logic was based on the fact that a lot off my hair loss needs no mechanical intervention, just the passing of time, leading to less strain on the clippers.

I've got the Babyliss Men (the first picture). It's good.

The plastic thing on the bottom allows you to set the clip length. I like it v short so I've taken the plastic thing off and just use the blade. It's really fast. I can do mine in about 2 minutes max. It works perfectly well around the ears. It's rechargeable too which is handy. Battery life is great, I probably get about 20 weekly cuts out of one recharge

I don't shave my scalp - it is doing a good job of 'shaving' itself, balding in some places, and thinning in others!

I do semi-shave my chin in winter though. From when the clocks go back to when they go forward I sport 'designer stubble' to help keep my face warm. (It is surprising how much difference a mm or so of stubble can make!) I use clippers similar to those Philips and find them very good. I set them to leave about 2 mm. (I also use them on my head but for that vary the length between about 15 mm and 19 mm.)

Do mine with a Philips cheapo beard trimmer. You don't need to worry about leaving big chunks at the back because you can't see it and everyone else is being too polite or thinking "what a sexy confident man to have such an unusual hair style"..

I thought it looked like a good idea, however some of the reviews say that it can be a bit dodgy with the cutting lengths if you've got a lumpy head, now, I'm not aware that I have a particularly lumpy head, but I didn't really want to find out halfway through a hair cut.
