OK before I get flamed, I do intend seeking professional advice but thought I would try and get a heads up on this.

After an MRI scan I have been advised that I have a "full thickness tear of the supraspinatus tendon near the humeral attachment with fluid in the subdeltiod bursa and biceps tendon sheath"

Question I have, will physio help this or is it a waiting game?

I think surgery is more likely - followed by physio !

No good physio will touch you at this stage,
good luck !!

I have a qualified physio who works with me she thinks that in the vast majority of cases a 'full thickness tear' will require surgery to repair the damage with physio to follow.

Thanks to all for the replies.

Sort of confirms what I feared. Strangely doctor did not suggest it would need surgery.

Problem I now have is that I am supposed to be doing London to Paris Poppybike and am training at the moment. Shoulder sems to be OK so far on rides up to 50 miles but does niggle me on a day to day basis.

Not sure I will be doing the Paris run :-(
