Standards are great - let's have lots of them !

Joking aside, it is silly to have mini and micro USB which are close but not the same. Fair enough full size and small, but mini/micro which look almost the same is just annoying.

Excluding apple, there aren't really that many. Mini was pretty ubiquitous for a few years then replaced by the faster micro, but a few purposes were still using mini until a couple of years ago, notably digital cameras and bike lights. I've got a 15 year old Canon that uses the same cable.

The distinctly superior micro still has it's faults, and so necessarily but annoyingly it is gradually being replaced by USB-C. So we will all again soon be stuck with a bunch of obsolescent cables.

I'm always losing my camera charging lead. If you go onto Ebay or Amazon and search for "Charging lead for Panasonic blah blah", you'll find loads of people who sell them cheap.
