Anybody's kids doing NCS?

Seems to me that this scheme has been available for over a hundred years from age six onwards now, it's called the Scout association.

Not if you happened to be in the female half of the population.

Yes but now, the kids will have been there done it, camped out, cooked & fended for themselves & each other done voluntary work all by the age of 14,prior to girls joining ventures (now explorers) the guides were doing the same thing.

Scouts association has certainly moved with the times, or maybe it's more reflecting them. I'd hope Baden Powell would still recognise the ethos, even if not the organisation.
NCS isn't competing with them. My daughter is doing it, but has never given the Scouts a thought - something just not on her radar.

I got a happy phone call this morning from underneath the single oak tree where phone reception is available. He was just off to do the high zip wire. So far, I'm judging this a very well spent 50quid.
