Anyone able to explain these handlebars?

I found it odd that the seller did not feel it necessary to mention them other than to say he had changed the bars and levers.

I think they're normal bars, just the angle of the photo and the bars makes them look stupidly long. The shadow looks normal

looks like a handlebar from a track bike, like these but tilted upwards

Just a guess but judging by the amount of seat post showing I would say the guy bought a bike that was too small for him so he changed the seat post and stem for a longer one and welded one pair of 'bars onto the front of another pair, the joint is still healing hence the thick bandage.

I'd say they're bars with a lot of drop, tilted so there's a lot of reach instead!

Ah right! Never spotted that, oops!

But why would anyone angle them like that as it cannot be the most comfortable nor easy to control set-up surely.
