Its strange how it works, I've got a Pearson thats now over five years old, on the first ride after I brought it I think I only got to the end of the road and I was grinning like the Cheshire cat, its been my favourite since. I've also got a Verenti Kilmeston that took about eighteen months to get comfortable on and start to like, I made a mistake and ended up with a bike that was a size to big then couldn't get it set up right, just couldn't seem to find the sweet spot, eventually I fitted a very short stem then it all fell into place and I got it into the sweet spot and started to enjoy it. The Verenti is a 53cm compact frame, if I did the purchase again I'd go with a 51cm, the pearson is a 54cm traditional frame.

Just bought a croix de fer frame. I want to keep disc brakes for my commuting bike. Lets see how this goes.
If anyone wants a kona honky inc frame give me a shout  Will be in the classifieds after I've rebuilt it with the croix de fer.

What size frame? Im thinking of building a commuter with 105

56cm but comes up a little short (I can take a large 54 or a small 56).
Hmm, I need to test one out for size, may be interested. What sort of price you had in mind?
I had a paddy wagon which was 54 and that was way too small

Don't know, I paid 230gbp for my frame. I would guess a bit cheaper than that. I'm 5ft 10 with a 31" inside leg if that is any help. The standover on this frame wouldn't be a problem at all, it would only be the reach.

Yes and panniers. It's got guards on at the moment. Check in the steel is real thread about a month back there are pics. It's done around 600miles in the last month and I guess it will of done closer to 1000 by the time it's stripped (2-3 weeks). Not a single mark on it though.

To get back to the OP - can't say I have.
I got a cheap folder of that Ebay that I'm less-than-enamoured of, but that's because it doesn't fit me all that well. I have nascent plans to molest it into a FWD 'bent.
But my carbon uberbike, the Dynatech fixed, the M6R and the Ribble ratbike - well, I've ridden them all in the last fortnight. Currently looking for a rollerbrake to fit to the hub-geared cheapie ( a bike I bought second-hand for £35 a decade ago) once I've unPringled the back wheel, and I must build up the Kirk one of these days. I love all my bikes

Yeah, I've had quite a few bikes sadly this is the only one I haven't clicked with.
