Sorry, should've mentioned - I tried that link and everything went pear-shaped. I just tried again and it didn't, so I'll probably have a go tomorrow. Thanks for that.

Asked again at the shop & they feel that there should be no problems in getting your printer reset. Maybe you have one thats a bit more local to you.
Given the printer I'd be tempted to phone & ask before taking the printer.

The only question asked was "Has it been reset before?"

This isn't physical switch but purely a timer. I had the same issue with an Epson R200 and downloaded an app that reset the service timer and I must have reset this timer at least four times before the printer gave up the ghost.
