I can't stop looking at it...it used to be facebook but I cured that habit with the met office app.....

It's got me bad!! I'm always looking at wind direction and rain and all that even when I'm not heading out on the roads!

Help!

Would be if the bloody thing was accurate!

You'd think if anyone could be accurate it would be the Met Office!

I'm a BBC weather kinda guy.

Recently I found this, which fulfills my need for wind information.

Looks like a useful link .

I am also of the opinion that the Met Office are worse than useless; especially if you try and rely on their forecast for anything more than about 2 days ahead .

Since the metoffice is the source for most of the data used in other forecasts, you might as well start there. Their rain radar is brill for telling you when it's likely to rain or stop raining in the next couple of hours. The BBC, I feel, isn't very good at interpreting metoffice data.

A better forecast comes from WeatherPro by MeteoGroup - a German company I believe. They also have a super rain radar view from the metoffice data, with differentiation between rain/snow/hail/sleet/etc., and snapshots every 15 minutes. Their forecasts are usually more accurate as well, but only slightly. Relying on a forecast that's more than a few hours in advance is pretty pointless to be honest.

I used to use the bbc site, then the MET site but now use them all to gauge a long ride but have to agree the XC seems to be the best overall.

Yeah? Where do you get yer weather info then or are you one of these free spirit sorts who goes on without?

I tend to view all the various available forecast options and work out an average, but the Met Office is generally the least accuarate - but that's just my own experience, the experience of others will differ greatly

No matter what site is use for weather forecasts. they never get it right..... it's always FAR windier than they forecast it to be!

I use the cycling weather on metcheck.com, the XCWeather site looks pretty good too though - both give more realistic wind gust speeds than BBC, met office etc.
