Anyone else that doesn't "do" films?

Couldn't tell you the last time I was at the cinema. Films as a general rule bore me. I rarely manage to keep awake for the duration. Don't know why; it's something that has always been with me. I don't have a great attention span and get bored easily; maybe that's it. And I can't get away from the fact that they are just acting.

Having said that, the odd film comes along that I enjoy. Patriot Games starring Harrison Ford being one. Most of the early James Bond films too. But I would struggle to name 20 films that I have seen in my 49 years!

Does someone who has never been to a cinema, nor possess a television, "win"?

Haven't been to the cinema in years. Not since spectacular cgi took over from convincing storylines.

To expand, many years ago, granny Hover Fly wanted to take the hover larvae to see Bambi. Ma and Pa Hover Flies refused, because they didn't want their children bringing up in "a land of make believe", so I never started to go to the cinema, a non-habit which has lasted into adult life with very few exceptions, mainly TV when I had one, and a few army training films. Still never been to a (paid) cinema.

I've never been a big fan of films. I can live with a film which is based on a true story, but I find most films utterly unconvincing and a bit crap. And modern CGI does nothing for me at all.

I've taken the kids to a couple (Avatar, Pirates of the Caribbean, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory) but the last film I went to see for myself was Jurassic Park. The original one, that is, 1993 I believe.

I don't get cinema, tbh, the whole popcorn, stale pee, hugely expensive thing doesn't work for me. I don't watch TV at home either, but that's mostly because Mrs Norm spends every evening watching CSI, NCIS, Chuck, etc.

I know Ive been to the local cinema once about 5 years ago can't remember what I saw though and I once went to the cycling film festival in Edinburgh, so I guess I'm not a big cinema goer. Films on tv/dvd sometimes capture me but most times I find my mind drifting to other things.

I too don't enjoy films, or television much. I do own a tv, and I watch it occasionally, but I am very selective about what I do watch.

The last time I went to the cinema was to see A Fish Called Wanda, mid eighties I guess. If there's one on the television I normally last about ten minutes.

I rarely watch films - don't have the time and the choice is not usually very inspiring on the TV.

As for the cinema, I hate it and haven't been for many years. Rip off prices, noisy, stinky, crisp munching, gum chewing, drink slurping buffoons all around - why do people go out of their way for that???

Same for me. Films don't do anything for me. Hollywood films are so predictable: violence, explosions, car Chase. Not my scene. I much prefer documentaries, history, nature reports. No idea last time I went to cinema.

Last film I went to see was the 2004 Dawn Of The Dead remake. It was great fun to watch that a cinema. But on the whole I am not that bothered and the whole cgi over content is a total turn-off to me. Adding 3D to this makes it even more lame.

I think I have been to the cinema twice in my entire life, both times dragged kicking and screaming by other people. I haven't watched a film in years. I do quite like the early Bond films for some reason, but beyond that, very little interests me. I don't watch TV either as a general rule. I'm more likely to be found in garage working on my various projects in my spare time.

TBH, it amazes me how many people I hear saying "oh I wish I had time to X Y or Z but I'm always so busy" and yet they find the time to sit for hours every evening watching Eastenderes or some such shoot on TV.
