Just find somewhere that will allow you to wheel it inI also hate rides out in the sticks, but I when I do solo riding I don't like bringing a lock to lock my bike up outside any cafes.

Just stop and fill your bottles up somewhere if needed
And the water will be lovely warm from the body heat you are generating.........

I regularly ride 150 miles with a 30Kg bag full of all sorts of stuff, a bag with a couple of litres of water in it would be a relief for me.In the days before I used bottle cages, I once cycled 50 miles with a backpack on my shoulders containing a heavy D-lock and two full water bottles. Nothing else can be as bad as that.
