Anyone in Bromley?

We're visiting tomorrow, and my son and myself will need rides on Saturday/ Sunday. If anybody could suggest good rides, they would be very gratefully received. Is there a better way out of town than along the A21? That doesn't appeal!

I think we may try to find a club ride to do on the Sunday too, if there's a local one we can tag along on (we'd be fine on fast rides).

The A21 is fine at weekends. Easy and safe enough to cycle any day and time at the weekends. Head down to Knockholt, turn right and head for Pollhill. Down the hill, left turn over the motorway. Left turn again and follow the road to Otford and the Pilgrims Way where the Kent lanes will be your Oyster.

I'm off out now so not able to post a more detailed reply. But Google Bigfoot and GS Avanti. Both local, well regarded cycling clubs that have active weekend schedules.

Head over toward Cudham to Church Hill, then over Braested Hill, either continue on over Ide Hill, or turn back up Hogtrough Hill.

You'll be ready for an afternoon snooze when you get back

A short train ride from Bromley South to Farningham Road or Eynsford will get you quickly to the Kent Lanes.

Fantastic thanks Ian. Went out with the 'Old Portlians', great bunch. We did around 70km with 3k ft of climbing. Perfect weather as well!
