If you wanted to make it an evening gathering pub crawl, I expect there are Bed and Breakfast establishments in Exeter ;).

How can I put this diplomatically, you might want it to be boys men only, I won't take it personnally  if you do, Wouldn't want to cramp anyone's style would I (do peeps use that expression these days?)

Speicher, for all of your time here, I never knew you were a lady. That's a bit odd, but then quite a few people used to think that I was a lady.
If you're doing a pub crawl, then head on out to Topsham and do as the students do - the Topsham 10. It's grim.

As I chose a foreign word for my forum name (no, I am not going to tell you which language it is from) and a Tug boat for my avatar, I think you can be excused for that, Sam. I think that I might also be a bit too old to blend in with students.

Or Nottingham? I was going to ask you and Mickle if you can suggest anywhere to stay near the race course to see Penny Farthings etc.

I expect you are all staying somewhere near there, and not returning to York each evening. I would probably go by train, or dr*ve, not sure yet, but would prefer to reach the venue on foot or by public transport. Have you got any ideas? I am sure I won't be the only one asking you this.

Nearest camp site is the one at Holme Peirre Pont. Should be open in May. Its pretty decent.
Not that one is it Spandex? Dont know the name of it, but its pretty much just accross the river from Holme Peirre Pont.

It can be found!

Do you know these guys and their liggers?
"The Lurv Handles are a 70's party band playing glam rock, disco, funk, etc for mainly 70's nights. Fun band which has raised loads of money for local charities. Infrequent gigs."

That sounds like Celeste's band! :0

Burner or warmer?
I'm thinking of gentle heat. Perhaps a nice easy route finishing at the Double Locks? Erm, ah ha! Meet in town, head up the Tivvy road, potter off through Stoke Canon, Thorverton, Shute etc then head back to the Double along the flood channel path. 30 cheeky miles with the odd pub stop on the way.
Any takers?
