I've heard of brass players who drive up onto the moors to have a good blart without bothering the neighbours. We even had a drummer who used to set up his drum kit on a short foot and cycle path called the Ha'penny Hatch who caused nobody any harm and presumably had noise concerns at home. And some places simply have great acoustics. Not as unusual as you might think.

When I was a kid, I used to bunk off school sometimes and ride my bike over to Wormwood Scubs field and their would be a bloke there tuning steel drums. Sounded FAB

I once cycled past a field at the top of the hill above Westerham in Kent. In the field there was a guy playing bagpipes and wearing a kilt, but no shirt. It was about 6.00am. On a glorious Saturday morning. To be honest, it was magical and I shall never forget it.

That reminds me, a guy in the middle of Greenwich Park playing bagpipes. It was inescapable.

(Not much point in choosing that career path if you are afraid of playing in the rain!)
