It's a funny thing but I've cycled in much worse commuting in winter but there's nothing more annoying than having to put up with gales and rain in the summer so I've given it a bye so far this week. Tomorrow is looking promising so might get out at least once before it starts again on Thursday.

Ok I lied just been for a 6 mile spin . Fitted my old back wheel with an 11 28 Cassette and wanted a test ride with existing chain from an 11 25 set up . So waited for the rain to stop and and out I went its was windy !!! Didn't mind the headwinds for testing the low gears but the crosswinds !!!! Borderline stupid for going out but heyho
By the way wheels worked fine Im ready for some Cornish hills in July
I took the car for night shift last night and glad i did tbh , very nasty out and looks similar for most of the week, dont fancy getting blown off into a ditch along the back roads around Bretby

I do my own stunts
Had to take the car because Mrs KB was late home from work yesterday. Driving back today initially thought it wasn't the worst day to drive until the police closed the bridge to my village because the electric cables had come down. Big, queuey detour.

On the plus side when I wanted to cycle over the bridge later on the lovely engineers were patient enough to halt work so I could push my bike past, and then again on the way back. Could have just said electric cables were down and I'd need to sod off. Top blokes.

No, sod it.

I like to think that I dont ride in poor weather conditions for the same reason NASA doesnt yet put man on Mars or moons of Jupiter.

I was hit by a falling tree on my commute home today!

Just a few cuts and bruises, although I was glad I was wearing a helmet as it got a severe clout from a big branch.

Managed to just about stay upright so no damage to the bike.

I had to go out North of York today and must admit there was a few braches on the road..... Glad i was in the car.

I went into Northwich today for a job interview, think I looked surprisingly passable considering I'd cycled along the narrow river path through puddles and being scraped by nettles and ducking under branches in the wind and driving rain. Waterproof is ripped but kept me dry.

Usually park at sainsburys but new bike parking has been created at Northwich now near the new shops and living wall so able to use that now which is much better

Somebody will be along shortly to say that the helmet made the tree fall down, or that your head would have been smaller and missed it. Personally I would be glad I was wearing one.
