Met a Dutchman working at a Spanish holiday resort.

He works between April-October. From late October he disappears on a series of cycle camping tours all over Europe and beyond.

Now that is a great way to spend one's winter.

  1. The boiler was serviced in July.
  2. We have a new porch being built in September.
  3. The logs I've stored for 12 months will be cut to size and split soon. I shall start doing a few when weather prevents riding and I have nothing else to do.
  4. Busy harvesting veg from my allotment, drying, storing, freezing as appropriate. Making and freezing gooseberry crumble, apple crumble.

YES. Can`t wait. I hate the heat, and everything bad that`s ever happened to me always happens mid fecking summer, so yes autumn and winter are very acceptable

Talk of winter whilst still in summer, tut tut!

For the many CCers who follow my updates about my palm tree family,:okay: you'll be glad to hear that i'm bringing the 4 smaller ones inside and leaving the 2 big stronger ones outside (just far too big now to drag inside) to face the colder months.
