Anyone ride fixed gear around the Peak District?

I'm coming home from uni in a few weeks and due to logistical issues I may only end up with my Langster with me over the summer. I'm running a 42x16 setup which works well for small hills in Oxfordshire but I imagine it will be hard work on real hills up north, then again I'm mainly aiming to cycle to maintain/improve my fitness rather than for speed! Has anyone had any experiences riding a fixed gear around Sheffield and the peak district? And if so, do any of you guys have some good fixed gear friendly routes to share?

I'm on the other side, but run 46 x 16. I don't take it into the big hills this side, usually anything upto 1 in 10 is OK. Just watch the steep stuff in Sheffield !

I used to ride fixed in Sheffield until recently, I was running 44x18 most of the time but before I moved I swapped to 44x17 which is broadly equivalent to 42x16. I could get up most hills with the possible exception of parts of Walkley and one random road in Nether Edge.
