Anyway, there's probably loads of parking space elsewhere in this carpark, this is the USA not a tiny little car park in England.

Probably a bike rack too. The real hazard here, as I see it, is an elderly person " not seeing the bike," and running it over.

Don't you just hate driving round a busy car park looking for a spot, then you see one, but when you get there it's not actually empty as someone's parked a tiny car right forward into the space where you can't see it?

At community college where I went summer after high school, a fellow parked a Chevy diagonally across 2 spaces. Easier to pick up, move, and set on sidewalk than one would imagine, at least for 4 farm boys and a city kid punk.

Yes it's very wrong. The space should have provision for the bike to be locked to something or it won't be there in 10 minutes.

You know what? I am 100% with the cyclist on this one. I am sick of the way vast amounts of landscape around public buildings and offices have to be drowned in Tarmac because of all the people who feel they are entitled to 20-odd sq ft of real- estate on which to dump their arse-widening machine.

I think you are too hard on yourself, there can be no doubt recumbents have a bigger footprint than uprights, but 20 odd sq ft?

While I agree that if you don't need all that space to park your vehicle you should leave it for someone who does, how are we to know that all the car users in the other spaces needed to use their car for that journey?

If you drive your car 300m from home and then park it in this car park, am I entitled to push it out of the way with my car because I drove 25 miles to get here with two small children in the back?
