Aww I loved that even called my son Timothy, nearly 30 now and he still can't believe I named him after Ronnie Corbett

This weekend I apologised to my mother-in-law for shouting at her and hurting her feelings. I didn't mean it, and only did so to defuse the tension as my father-in-law was furious and I didn't want to have an argument in front of my daughter. Next time either of them speak to me like that in my own home and in front of my daughter will be the last time they set foot in my house and the last time they see their grand-daughter.

Which is all a bit sad really. Sorry.

I'm sorry to point out that we had already realised that this is a sorry thread.

..... And that we are sorry to say that anyone who has posted in this thread must be in a pretty sorry predicament, or is a sorry excuse for a person, sorry, but it has to be said, sorry.

Sorry.

In many partner dances the convention is that the follower (lady) should never need to apologise if, for example, she stands on the leader's toes because he's the one who has decided where his feet are going to be.

On those occasions where I've had to explain to an apologetic follower that it's always the man's fault when it goes wrong, it's hard to resist adding the observation that it's just like real life.
