Yup.. our Sharp Aquos which is now over 11 years old was the mutts nuts top o' the range at the time when we bought it. Cost 2 and a half grand. It's still a lovely TV, a great picture, absolutely nothing wrong with it. But I just want a new one, a slightly bit bigger (it's 37inch) and with all the bells and whistles smart tech stuff.. and for what? a quarter of the price I paid back then.
It's not looking like giving up the ghost anytime soon, so will stick with it.

:okay:
Well, they both contained beer h'actually and were bought to fill an awkward sized space.
You don't have to feel guilty about having 2 wine coolers and using them for wine. Most middle class pretentious nonentities have only one though! By the way which Waitrose do you use!!

We got ride of our old CRT tv this year at long last. The new one is amazing and the energy savings will mean it has paid for itself already (probably)

Would you like to borrow our Nintendo Wii? We never use it (as I said we wouldn't!) and I believe they were quite the thing for breaking TV screens in 2009.

If appliances don't break down in the first few months, they're good for years
I wish that was the case in this household. The huge grey fridge thing is doing well though.

I have a good range of old stuff still giving fantastic service. My cooker dates from 1981 and still looks like it came out of the showroom (yes it does get used!), works perfectly even down to the timer functions. I have an old Black and Decker lawn mower which is 10 years older than the cooker, cuts beautifully and is totally reliable, and my other "ol faithful" is an Electrolux upright vacuum from the 1970`s which I bought last year for £8 from the recycling centre - it does a fantastic job.

I enjoy using the old appliances, they seem to be so much better in the majority of cases, and have no intention of replacing any of them with modern equivalents unless I have to

I found the boot screen interfacing assisted with that nicely. as did the rapid launching of the soundbar across the front room when I was moving them for decorating - moral here is don't decorate its flipping expensive !!

I also discovered that defrosting a freezer with a sharp cold chisel is not a good idea as the liquid rapidly turns to a gas and it stops fuerkinweurkin .

My microwave is over 20 years old. I sometimes wonder if it's still safe after all this time.

Brother combi one. Don't think Brother have even made microwaves for years. It just keeps going and the oven setting makes lovely crisp baked potatoes.
