So the bottom line is?
If you own a mobile phone, an internet connection, a laptop, a tablet, a tv or any other device capable of viewing live tv (or catch up bbc) and don't have a licence you could wind up in court and you might be found guilty. Even if you never watched a thing?
Whether you do or not is at the discretion of the TVL people and whether they consider they might get a conviction?
The court will use the 2004 act, which despite it's being 12 years old now, doesn't yet have enough case law for anyone to reasonably predict the outcome?
I'd like to know if anyone has successfully been prosecuted in that 12 years for possession alone without either proof of use or admission of guilt.
TVL won't be publishing that any time soon I'll warrant. They are using fear and ambiguity to force people to get a licence to cover themselves.
