Are indoor water features still a thing?

We once had a water feature in our bathroom when water was coming in through the ceiling from a leaky roof. Wife didn't say much when i reminded her that she'd always fancied a water feature.....

I read an article a while back, that said that if you have a lot of noise from passing cars/trains etc when at home, a water feature with running water blocks/masks the noise
not sure if it is BS but I also read that some large companies play 'white noise' through speakers in their offices and this is supposed to drown sound/noise

My two little lads create a water feature in our bathroom every time they go for a burst.

The only water feature we once had was when a squirrel ate it's way through the water tank pipe in the eaves of the house and flooded the room downstairs while i was out. The room was on a lower level to the other rooms downstairs, so i came home to 4 inches of water.
Hence, i do not like squirrels.

Upside of a new build house is that I have a building site full of workmen to call on in the morning !No1 daughter managed to create a waterfall from the bath into the hall downstairs.
I was so proud of her efforts that I offered to rip up the 3 month old laminate flooring and re-lay it all anew...
Downside of having No1 daughter is that I am on call on in the morning..
But I don't mind really

The idiot in the flat above my student flat made a water feature of my bedroom and the shop below me! I woke up to the sound of water coming through my ceiling and disappearing through my floor ...
I ran up to his flat and banged on his door but he refused to answer. I could hear him moving about so I told him to open the effing door IMMEDIATELY or I would kick it down! He opened it an inch, and grunted "WHAT?" I told him about the water and he muttered something about running a bath and falling asleep, then slammed the door in my face. At least he turned the taps off and drained some of the water out of the bath to staunch the torrent.
I went down to the shop and apologised for the water which had flooded through my flat into the shop. The owner said that idiot-upstairs-neighbour had done the same thing before, a few months prior to me moving in.
I seem currently to be developing an indoor water feature in my home! I can often smell damp plaster after having a shower so I think water is leaking somewhere. I can't find out where though. The only thing that I can think is that perhaps the plasterboard behind the tiles is getting damp but I can't see any damp patches so I don't know what/where the problem is. I think I am going to have to wait until it becomes obvious because I don't want a plumber ripping walls down/floors up trying to find out where the suspected leak is.

I created a water feature in the kitchen when I fitted a new sink. Pleased as punch with my handiwork in connecting the rather snazzy looking taps I ran both of them on full blast.
Next time I'll make sure I connect the waste pipe first.
