Are the roads safer or have my perceptions changed??

Perceptions aside, the statistics say that the roads are now the safest they've been in my lifetime. I've been riding on the roads since 1961. (1959 actually but don't tell my mum) and certainly notice the improvement. Still a long way to go so no complacency can be justified.

The one thing that has got worse though is intolerance. By everyone.

I've been commuting in Glasgow for more than 7 years now. There are more cyclists about and the general standard of driving round cyclists has definitely improved, especially in the rush hours.
