Are there any great movies about cycling???

I remeber seeing one on the telly when I was a kid about some amazing American cyclist, the only scene of the film I can remember was when the main character was out training and raced an articulated lorry and the amazement on the lorry drivers face as they got faster and faster.

Must admit though I havent seen that one or any others since! Are there any that can be reccomended?

A Sunday in Hell is pretty unbeatable. Documentary though.

Bugger to track down at a decent price though - I haven't found it for less than £20 yet which is a bit much for a DVD!

+-The history of Mr Polly, 1949, in which the main character becomes a keen cyclist.

I've never actually seen the film, but thought it deserved a mention as it's based on the book of the same name by H.G.Wells. Also the author of "The wheels of chance: a bicycling idyll" and quouted as saying "when I see an adult on a bicycle, I do not despair for the future of the human race". Obviously a man of great discernment and insight.

One of my kids bought that for me one Christmas.

The style of animation is terrific. In fact isn't the an advert on tv just now that is reminiscent of it?

Can't recall the product but I think there is a train in the ad.
