After waiting a year for an e-Corsa, my mother has blown them off and bought a Suzuki Ignis for around half the price, which she can have in a few days because it's straight from the showroom floor. Just needs registering and PDI.

I saw one last week near Nottingham, pretty quick acceleration. Shame they didn't put a bigger battery in it
Looks like Vauxhall have had major supply issues. 12 to 14 months is not uncommon by the look of it - so she might have been close to delivery.
258 miles isn't *that* stupidly limited. Keep lusting though - the proper campervan version is in development!
Stellantis who own Vauxhall as well as many other brands are not tooled up to make EVs.
They are in a downward spiral of trying to protect their ICE products to fund their late appearance to the BEV revolution.
There lay the problem, dwindling sales of ICE won't fund the massive costs of retooling production plants.
Jeep has gone bust in China in the last 6 months.
Expect well known brands to disappear in the near future through lack of seeing the public wanting BEVs

Not too sure about that. Most of the multi-story car parks built in the 60's and 70's are still standing, but average car sizes & weights have increased massively since then.

Best ban all ICE until they have upgraded the buildings. There's only a few BEV's on the roads
Plus they've squeezed more vehicles into these multi storey carparks, narrowing parking bays
Or is it simply that cars have become bigger in recent years, thus car parking spaces appear smaller but it's the car which is bigger thus making the space APPEAR smaller - ? The modern so called Mini is a case in point.
Most folk who have garages don't use them, partly because cars are now too wide to fit in them and said garages still appear to be of a sixty + year old measurement. Making them wider hasn't been addressed yet, especially with the ones that are integral to a house as this would require the whole house dimensions to be reassessed.
Indeed. I once dated a lass who's house had a double garage that was so full of 'stuff' that she couldn't even get her '89 Fiesta in it - !

Indeed! I wouldn't dream of putting the car in the garage. We have a large double garage and it's for working on bikes and for storing bikes, as is the study!
