... well are you? Do you have assets/income worth £1,000,000 or more at present?

Forget about mortgage and other debts you might offset against your gross worth do your assets/income make you a millionaire?

I'm not btw, but I bet cc has a few, property prices being what they are.

 - nowhere near, but interestingly I watched a documentry regarding lottery winners and it seems the euphoria of winning lasts a year or two (the period in which they spend / invest their money and vastly improve their situation and lifestyle and then settle back down to "normal") - but after that they are no more or less happy than before.

That documentary sounds interesting, can you remember what it was called?

On our honeymoon, we went to Mauritius, where we stayed at a sort of upmarket ClubMed type place for a fortnight. Food & drinks all in, sort of thing - all very cordon bleu - not Michelin starred, but not that far off. For the first four or five days it was great; for the next week or so it was dinner; by the last few days it was boring, and we started having daydreams about fish 'n chips or a nice pork pie.

Trying to factor house prices is interesting, if you believe Zoopla my house is worth 80% more than what I bought it for a few years ago. Could I sell the house for that much, yes if I was willing to wait at least 9 months to sell because someone will be willing to pay a lot to live in my village. For a quicker sale then the price will drop. So what is the capital value of my house?

Whatever a surveyor/valuer says it is worth.

I'd like to see the age of those graduate millionaires, I bet 75% are over 50.
I'm not a millionaire, and I dont think any of my friends are (all in their late 30's, all went to Uni). But my parents and my friend's parents (all late 60's) would be but this is purely an accident of geography because we grew up in an affluent area of Surrey, which has seen crazy house price inflation.
Most of my friends dont live in Surrey anymore, because we cant afford the house prices.
