Are you alone on club runs on fixed?

The club I ride with is new and not too serious. I am the only fixed rider and they all think I am bonkers. I do lose them on the longer descents but manage to catch up again pretty easily. I've tried to explain but nobody seems to want to listen.

Yes. And it still attracts attention. I ride fixed year round but prefer it slightly over my geared bikes during winter and crap weather because it's easier to clean!

I manage just fine and am normally quickest up climbs. But my club is like a CTC group, not a nose-to-the-bars boy racers outfit. Whilst there's probably no fixies in the local sports cycling club either, I suspect they'd drop me pretty darned sharp-ish. The fast group doesn't hang about.
