Female but I don't do knitting, sewing at all (and as little cleaning as I can get away with), I do cook lots though.

(Keep being told it's about time I learnt how to iron as well

'er indores was horrified to discover my tag. 'swee'pea?' she squawked, 'isn't that a bit....gay?' I don't know, I said, is it? Maybe I should change it to something well 'ard, like Clint, or Sylvestor or Arnold.

I'm not. None of my female cyclist friends will go on here. Too male-centric apparently, things like the Lovely Ladies thread for example. I don't care, but many ladies do.

That's interesting. You tend, as a male, to be a bit blind to these things but then if more of them came on, the flavour of the forum would change with that.

Its a shame they feel that way, but they could always post a 'lovely guys thread' I certainly would not object.

The only way to change something is often from within.

I believe a dishy men thread was put up at one point. As I said, it's never bothered me but that's been a few friend's reactions when I've asked why they don't use forums. It's not just CC, they don't use any of the cycle forums. Great shame, I've had a lot of useful advice off here and, of course, come to know and love the FNRttC.

Again though, only one female friend who cycles would go on that with me. There was much worrying about looking like an idiot or letting down the boys if they couldn't go fast enough. A lot of nonsense frankly. The friend and I had a fantastic time and I'll be doing my third on Friday. I think there's just more fear of the unknown among my female friends.
