ARGH 7 Punctur*s - Pump Advice Required

Afternoon all

I have had 7 punctures in the last 3 weeks, I know thats down where I am riding and there isnt much I can do about it, BUT I dont have a hand pump as I find then pointless, so I have spent a fortune on Co2 Cannisters, It might have been a dream I had, but is there such a thing as a Mini Track pump ? a foldable track pump or something along those lines ????

There's plenty of mini pumps - I use a Topeak Master Blaster. Whilst advertised to 160 PSI, I have no troubel getting to about 110 PSI.

That's usually good enought to get home.

You could also consider a more puncture resisistent tyre for the rear - where most punctures occur.

try something like tyreinflators for co2 at proper prices (more you buy the cheaper obviously)


You might be interested in the "Topeak Mini Morph Pump", which has a tube and even a foot rest...

+1 for Top Peak master blaster - I have the mini one - weighs next to nothing and really easy to get a decent pressure.
(but yeah... 7 punctures...?! I'd be looking for tougher tyres if that was me!)

Forgive the obvious, however are the punctures all on one inner and in one specific area? I didn't twig - pun intended - that something was stuck in the tyre. Took 4 punctures to figure it out

I'd be looking at checking the tyres haven't got a bit of glass or flint lurking - then chuck them out for some M+ or similar for the bike you ride.
A Topeak Mini morph will get you the pressures to avoid further trouble and the gas is a good idea for when the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. As Doc Squirrel says - tyreinflators or another online CO2 supplier will enable you to buy a box of 30. Make sure you get 'threaded' or 'non-threaded' according to your device.
Plenty of pumps to choose from though, and always replace your CO2 with proper air when back indoors - or your tyre will appear flat...that's not what you have been experiencing is it?

If you specifically mean a mini "track" pump then I don’t know of one, but as many have said, mini pumps are abundant.

surely now you can see that a pump is far from pointless?

I have got a Topeak Road Morph.  Short bit of tube to stop clumsy people like me snapping the valve head off  and you  stand it on its end and use the earth to push against. Gets up to 120 psi in no time.  Had to use it twice in the last two days .  There is a fold out foot thing as well but I haven't used that yet.

I'll mention a Decathlon Clever 900 (mini track pump) - cracking and will do any tyre - heavy but a do it all one - I carry this when commuting.

Also, Topeak Mountain Morph - used a mates the other week..... another mate's tyre went down, I whipped out a tube and the other mate had his Mountain Morph ready - very very good - another mini track pump bit bigger for MTB's - still got a 23mm road tyre up to 100 PSI in a minute or so).

Gaz...CO2 - waste of cash........not needed at all....never used the stuff ! Road I use a Blackburn Carbon doobrie.........

Go for a Mountain Morph for the MTB tyres, and maybe some heavier duty 'path' tyres than full off road tyres (full off road tyres aren't that thorn/glass proof)

tried loads and am now on zefal frame pumps, favourite so far

had one of those road morphs, always had issues getting the bloody thing to grip the valve, hated doing 200 strokes to get to pressure and a seal on it went at some point and gave me a nice walk to thenearest bike shop

As for the tyres, I got the puncture in a "Puncture protectd "Racing Rob" tyres yesterday but I have had them on Spesh tyres and Nobby Nic tyres too, suspect its just because the canal is full of glass and thorns,not sure I can avoid it TBH
